How can I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made on the internet or using our telephone booking line 0900 160 0900 (calls cost 60p per minute, mobile calls may vary). Lines are currently open from 8am-9pm 7 days a week. From 4th June 2007, they will be open from 7am-10pm 7 days a week.

    Bookings for megabus.com can also be made through one of the following agents:

  • Stagecoach Scotland, Aberdeen Bus Station, Guild Street, Aberdeen
  • Stagecoach Scotland, Edinburgh Bus Station, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh
  • Inverness Bus Station, Margaret Street, Inverness

How do I search for journeys?
All our services are priced and sold individually, however you can choose to buy either a single, day return, period return or a block of repeat journeys across a number of different dates.

From Search and Buy you choose the number of passengers requiring travel, including children of 5 years of age and over for megatrain.com bookings and children of 3 years and over for megabus.com bookings (please see our Terms and Conditions). Please note that all passengers travelling under the same booking reference must board together.

Now choose your leaving from and travelling to points.

megatrain.com services leave from and arrive at mainline railway stations within the towns and cities we serve. You must board and alight at these points, and you may not board or alight at other points on the route.

megabus.com services leave from and arrive at strategic locations within the towns and cities we serve. You make your reservation to and from your chosen town or city and when travelling you choose which stop to board or alight the bus, the fares are the same regardless of which stops you use on any given route.

Details of our departure and arrival points, including maps can be found in the Stops section of the site. Detailed timetables for all stops served can be found in the Timetables section of the site.

Next choose your outbound date from the drop down menu, our services can be booked up to 45 days in advance of departure.

If you want to book a return then select a return date in the returning? drop down menu. This can be on the same day or on any subsequent date, again up to 45 days in advance.

Please note when booking services which depart afer midnight you are required to select the actual date for the journey remembering that the date changes at midnight.

You can now choose to repeat this journey on different dates, allowing you to book a block of bookings for the same outbound and return journeys across different days of the week. Select the additional dates from the 'repeat journey on another date?' drop down menu. The repeat journey option can only be used when your initial selection includes either a single or return journey that starts and finishes on the same day. If you do search on more than one date, your search results will only contain journey times, which are available on ALL your chosen dates. This may restrict the number of search results you get. Try searching on only a few dates for best results.

Once you are happy with your selection click on “start search”.

When I search my journey is not offered?
This may happen for a couple of reasons. Firstly check our Timetables section to ensure the journey operates on the date you have chosen. Alternatively it may simply be that the journey has been sold out. Book early to avoid disappointment.

How do I book a journey?
After completing your search you will be offered a list of the available journeys for your selection.

Please note that the departure and arrival times displayed are for the main terminus points you selected. If you are travelling with megatrain.com you must board and alight at these points, and it is a condition of travel on megatrain.com that you may not board or alight at other points on the route.

If you are travelling with megabus.com you may choose to board or alight the bus at a different point on the route. For a list of additional pick-up and drop-off points and appropriate departure and arrival times on these journeys please select Timetables.

Select your journey(s) by clicking on the box next to the journey(s) you wish to book from the list and add to your order.

You can now choose to remove bookings, search and add more journeys or checkout.

How do I pay?
Payment for our services can be made using most major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro (Switch). Reservations cannot be paid for in cash or by cheque.

Once you have completed all your reservations you will be taken to the Worldpay page to pay for your journeys. Enter the necessary details and make your payment.

I had problems making my payment, what should I do?
Please check your email address for the Worldpay confirmation email and your reservation email. If you have received both of these then your transaction was successful. If however you do not receive either of these within an hour or so of your transaction then please contact us.

Can I cancel and/or get a refund?
Once completed reservations cannot be cancelled or refunded. However while we will make every effort to operate our services as scheduled, where this fails to occur full refunds or alternative travel arrangements will be offered.

Can I change a reservation?
Yes - This can only be completed more than 48 hours before the first journey you reserved is scheduled to depart for megatrain.com bookings, meagbus.com customers must make any changes 24 hours prior to the first journey departure on the order. A £1 fee (50p amendment and 50p booking) is charged for all orders being changed. The cost of the initial reservation will be credited against the subsequent reservation. Should the subsequent reservation be less expensive than the initial reservation, no payment or further credit will be made to the customer, all unused credit will be forfeited. If the initial amount paid is less than the cost of the subsequent reservation you must pay the difference when completing your new reservation.

Will I get a confirmation?
After completing your payment you will be presented with your journey confirmation, which includes your reference number. This will also be emailed to the address you supplied.
