Where do megabus.com routes leave from and arrive?
megabus.com routes leave from and arrive at strategic locations within the towns and cities we serve. You can make your reservation to and from your chosen town or city.

Details of our departure and arrival points, including maps can be found in the Bus Stops section of the site. Detailed schedules for all stops served can be found in the Schedules section of the site.

When do your schedules operate?
Detailed schedules for megabus.com routes can be viewed online by selecting the Schedules section of the site.

These schedules are for guidance only and may vary by day. For confirmation of times and availability please check in Search and Buy for your date of travel. Since your desired origin and destination may be in different time zones, all times shown on this website will be local to your selected cities.

What are your prices?
All megabus.com prices are shown in US$. Megabus.com one-way fares start as low as US$1. Fares will vary by reservation date, day of travel and demand for seats. US$1 fares are limited. Fares are subject to change without notice. A 50¢ fee is charged for all reservations and prices include sales tax where applicable. For changes to existing reservations a 50¢ change fee and a 50¢ new reservation fee will apply. Any change to your reservation may result in a fare increase. Megabus will offer its best prices to those who make reservations early or choose less popular trips. However, all trips will remain competitively priced offering excellent value for your money. Please note that due to the high sales volumes on our website, prices may fluctuate between searches.

A single reservation fee of 50¢ is charged for all megabus reservations. This fee is charged to cover bank and administration charges related to your reservation.

Reservations made by telephone will be charged at the same rate as those made on the internet and will attract a US$3 reservation fee. Calls to the megabus reservation hotline are toll free.

Can I make a reservation for the same one way or return trip across multiple days in one transaction?      
You can reserve a block of trips on different dates, allowing you to reserve the same outbound and return trips across different days of the week. From the "repeat trip on another date?" drop down, choose your additional dates of travel. The repeat trip option can only be used when your initial selection includes either a one way or return trip that starts and finishes on the same day. If you do search on more than one date, your search results will only contain trip times, which are available on ALL your chosen dates. This may restrict the number of search results you get. Try searching on only a few dates for best results.

When can I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made for trips up to 45 days in advance of departure. Due to operational constraints megabus may choose to change this period.

What amenities do your buses offer?
megabus.com operates motorcoaches equipped with on board restrooms. Rest stops will be provided on our longer trips.

What does a megabus look like?
megabus.com buses are identified by their distinctive branding which is used throughout this site. For a photo of one of our vehicles click here.

What is your luggage policy?
Passengers are advised that megabus.com will accept up to one piece of luggage per passenger. For guidance this should be no more than the size of a standard suitcase and should not weigh more than 50 pounds. Passengers can also take on board one small piece of luggage that will fit in the overhead storage compartment. Please be advised that passengers wishing to travel with more luggage than this may have items refused, depending on the availability of space.

Luggage is subject to inspection when crossing international borders. You will be asked to declare any items subject to duty upon crossing the border. megabus is not responsible for any luggage crossing international borders. Passengers must claim all luggage at the border crossing point before proceeding. No luggage is allowed across the border unless claimed by a passenger.

Our maximum liability to you for any loss or damage to your luggage, on megabus.com services under any and all circumstances is limited to US$250 for all such loss or damage.

Does megabus offer insurance?
Insurance is purchased by the carrier in accordance with our legal responsibility. All legal liabilities to third parties, to include damage to property and personal injury are covered. Our maximum liability to you for any loss or damage to your luggage, on megabus.com services under any and all circumstances is limited to US$250 for all such loss or damage.

Can I take my bicycle?
Unfortunately megabus.com buses are unable to carry bicycles.

Can I take my dog?
megabus.com is unable to carry dogs or other animals, with the exception of trained service animals that allow disabled passengers to perform necessary activities. Service animals must be properly harnessed and under the direct control of the passenger at all times.

Do your buses take wheelchairs?
If you normally use a wheelchair and are able to climb the few steps into the bus, we will store your wheelchair in the luggage bay and the driver will help you into your seat.

However, if you normally use a wheelchair and you need to remain in it for your trip on megabus, please do NOT purchase your ticket on megabus.com, but call 877-GO2-MEGA and explain to the customer service agent the date, time and destination of your travel plans. Please have your credit card handy. The agent will check that there is space on the trip you want. If there is room on the trip, then a bus with a wheelchair lift will be allocated to that trip. If the trip you want is full, the agent will suggest another departure. Please also tell the agent if a personal care attendant (PCA) will be accompanying you and a reservation will also be made for them.

It is very important that you make your reservation as early as possible, but no less than 48 hours before the date of intended travel.

Do I get a ticket?
megabus.com is ticketless and reservations can only be made from our website. When you make a reservation for a megabus.com trip you will be given a reservation number. Take this with you and present it to the driver when you travel... it's as simple as that.

Do children pay on megabus.com?
Children under the age of 2 years are carried free and should not be included in your reservation, however they are not guaranteed a seat when traveling on megabus.com. Only one child under the age of 2 years can be carried free for each reservation. If additional children need to be carried then additional reservations need to be made.

Can unattended children ride megabus.com?
All children under 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (17 years of age or over) when traveling on megabus.com.

What is a Promotion Code?
megabus.com will occasionally run special promotions offering even better value for money on our wide network of services. These promotions will be run in local and national press and on marketing campaigns across the network. Watch out for these promotions and enter the appropriate code in the promotion code box to ensure that promotional pricing is offered whenever available.

Can I access megabus.com from my hand-held device?
Yes, megabus.com is now accessible from any mobile hand-held device.
